パーカッショニストが創る、オリジナルでオーガニックなブレイクビーツ・エレクトロ・ハウス・ドラムンベースをミックスした、日本から世界へ届ける原始的かつ浮遊感漂う、チル&ダンスミュージック。
マスタリングには、国内外でもアンダーグラウンドで絶大な人気を誇るCALMを迎え、スチールパン、カリンバなどの楽器を多彩に使用する楽曲や和太鼓芸能集団 鼓童の元メンバーとのフューチャリング曲の"NordliteUltraTokyoRemix"は、スウェーデンのスポーツメーカーCRAFTの2025SSタイアップ曲に起用され、ヨーロッパのオーディエンスからも高い評価を受ける。
KAKUEI's first solo album is finally released from OAU.
The percussionist's original and organic mix of breakbeats, electro house, and drum'n'bass creates a primitive and floating chill and dance music to be delivered from Japan to the world.
The “NordliteUltraTokyoRemix,” a song featuring former members of the Japanese taiko drumming group Kodo, was mastered by CALM, a hugely popular underground musician both in Japan and abroad, and features a variety of instruments such as steel pan and kalimba. The song “NordliteUltraTokyoRemix” was used as a tie-in song for the 2025SS of CRAFT, a Swedish sports manufacturer, and was highly acclaimed by European audiences.
KAKUEI（パーカッショニスト）
横浜生まれ。幼少期よりピアノを始め、サーフカルチャーの中で打楽器に傾倒し、ブラックミュージックをベースに、エレクトロ・ハウス・ブレイクビーツなどのダンスミュージックに触れる。
1996年から、アフリカの民族楽器（アサラト、ケスケス）をモチーフにした PATICA（パチカ）を創り出す。
2007年に、OAU（OVERGROUND ACOUSITC UNDERGROUND）を結成。アルバム5枚・VA4枚・EP3枚をリリース。 NACニューアコースティックキャンプでのメインアクトから、フジロックをはじめ数多くのフェスに参加。 テレビ東京ドラマ"きのう何食べた？"の主題歌「帰り道」や、松坂桃李主演の映画”新聞記者”の主題歌「where are you gone」などが起用される。
2017年に、FreeJazzトランペッター近藤等則氏とのユニット"FLYING EARTH"を結成。 メンバーとして参加したIMAバンド再結成時には、恵比寿LIQUIDROOMでの復活ライブを成功させ、晩年の近藤等則が亡くなる直前まで、共に楽曲制作をする。 アルバム1枚リリース。
そのほか、盟友Calmとの楽曲レコーディングやライブ。DJ KAORU INOUE（井上薫）aka ChariChariへの参加。 鍵盤奏者 FERNANDO MOURA （brazil,gamga zumba等） との楽曲制作など、数多くのアーティストからの信頼も熱く、原始とデジタルを融合したオリジナルの音楽を創造し続ける。
Born in Yokohama, Japan. I started playing the piano at an early age, and became interested in percussion instruments in the surf culture, and was exposed to dance music such as electro, house, and breakbeats, based on black music.
In 1996, I created PATICA, which is inspired by African folk instruments (asarato and keskes).
In 1998,DJ'at a club run in the athletes' village at the Nagano Olympics and Paralympics.
In 2006, Performed at the Cherry Blossom Festival in San Francisco.
In 2007, I formed OAU (OVERGROUND ACOUSITC UNDERGROUND). Released 5 albums, 4 VAs, and 3 EPs. We have performed as the main act at the NAC New Acoustic Camp, and have participated in many festivals including.
In 2017, I formed the unit “FLYING EARTH” with FreeJazz trumpeter Toshinori Kondo. I participated in the reunion of the IMA band as a member, and successfully held a revival live performance at Ebisu LIQUIDROOM, and worked with Kondo in his later years until just before his death. We released one album.
In addition, I recorded songs and performed live with my ally Calm. Participated in DJ Kaoru Inoue aka ChariChari. I has worked with keyboardist FERNANDO MOURA (brazil, gamga zumba, etc.) and is trusted by many artists, and continues to create original music that fuses the primitive and the digital.
